7 Weird Things about the Most Important Person on this Blog...ME!

I’ve been tagged! Well my loyal readers are probably thinking THANK GOODNESS because that means I will post again. Since it’s been ages. Almost 3 months. But I’ve been busy! Reading other people’s blogs! So don’t be mad…I’ll get the hang of this sometime. Maybe. But for now, everyone thank Megan at The Lenexicon for sponsoring this lovely post.

Here are The Rules.
Rule #1: Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
Rule #2: Share seven random or weird facts about yourself.
Rule #3: Tag seven people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
Rule #4: Let each person know that she’s been tagged by leaving a comment on her blog.

Okay let’s see…

1. I love trimming my cuticles. But I only like to do it when I’m by myself. It’s a soothing thing to me…I know it’s weird. But that’s why that’s my #1 weird fact.

2. One of my greatest fears is probably the most ridiculous fear you’ve ever heard. I’m deathly afraid of not finding overhead compartment space on the airplane. One time probably 5-6 years ago), when I was flying across the country, I was one of the last people on the plane, and I walked up and down the aisles trying to find a place for my bag. I was holding up the entire plane, and they eventually had to check my bag. It was extremely traumatic. I now pick my seats on airlines based on which Seating Group I will be on. I need to be in Group 1 or 2, people! I freaked out last week when I was in Group 3. It should be noted that since my one traumatic experience, I have always found a place for my bag. But I am CONVINCED it will happen again and it could happen on any moment on any flight! Oh the horror!

3. It is very important for me that if I’m supporting a sports team, that I wear the team colors that day. If I wasn’t wearing team colors and my team lost, it would be my fault, ya know?

4. I like my pancakes to be undercooked and very battery. The topped with butter and syrup. Delicious.

5. I only chat my friend Kendal in Spanglish. It’s very difficult for us to speak English with each other when we’re with other people. Es muy fun escribiring in Espanglish, no te believes?

6. I’ve never eaten Taco Bell. It just doesn’t appeal to me. I am open to trying many new things, but I don’t think anyone can convince me to go there.

7. One other fear of mine, which might not be quite as irrational, is that someone is going to run me over in the Metro. Not a train, but a person. Running. To catch a train. That comes EVERY 2 FREAKIN’ MINUTES, PEOPLE, calm down! But I am little, and big running people knock over little people, and of this, I am terrified.

Now is the time that I’m supposed to tag 7 bloggers. But I don’t know 7 bloggers. I know Megan and Emily, and they’ve already been tagged! So here are just 7 people who I like that are weird and probably have weird things to say.

Six Random Things About Yours Truly

This week has been super boring at work. SuperBoring. My entire job has been scrabulousing and catching up on Amalah.com archives which Emo has addicted me to. My next task is to fulfill the tag that Emo placed upon me. That should entertain me for, oh, 23 minutes or so. Goodie.

Emo tagged me in her blog to write 6 random things about myself. Here we go.

  1. I have never considered myself to be particularly picky, but lately, a special someone has made me realize that I am incredibly brand loyal and I like to buy the same products over and over again. And I get upset when they discontinue it. Grrrr. Here are some examples of what I like: Lemon Pledge, Febreeze (Spring and Renewal), Crest toothpaste, Tide detergent (with Febreeze Spring and Renewal scent of course), Bounce dryer sheets (ditto with the Febreeze scent), Orbitz gum (only blue and green), Secret Platinum deodorant: Ambition scent (an example of something they no longer MAKE anymore! I’m distraught about finding a new scent!), Softlips Mint Delight chapstick (also discontinued), etc.
  2. My favorite road trip snacks are Diet Dr. Pepper and Reese’s Pieces. It’s just not a road trip without them.
  3. I like to wear heels. I think they’re easier to walk in than flats.
  4. I don’t like to drink whiskey. It all stems from an unfortunate incident in which I was playing a dominoes drinking game (can any game NOT be made into a drinking game?) in which I lost 7 straight games and had to take 7 straight shots of whiskey. I fell down the stairs that day.
  5. I am deathly afraid of dentists. My first 7 or so baby teeth had to be pulled because the permanent teeth were coming in and did not loosen the baby teeth. It was very traumatic.
  6. Also, I have a tooth that’s backwards.

I am tagging Marianna, Amy, Brianna, Melissa, Gaby, and Kendal. Only one of these people have blogs, but I don’t care. Emily wanted me to post, so I posted!

Here are the rules:

  • link to the person who tagged you.
  • post the rules on your blog.
  • write six random things about yourself.
  • tag six people at the end of your post.
  • let each person know they've been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
  • let the tagger know when your entry is up.

A definitive victory for mankind

Since the title of my blog is “the Blazerette”, I think it is fitting to give a few comments about my extreme happiness over last night’s championship-clinching game. There are many ways to speak of this. Many have tried. Take these quotes from some friends:

  • “Was talking with my ex... she said she felt bad for Kobe...and I said…this is exactly why we broke up.”
  • “Yea it was great to see how dejected [Kobe] was.”
  • “This was my third best feeling I've had as a sports fan”
  • "I am so happy I can say 'eff the Lakers!' Thank you Boston Celtics."
  • “Jeepers, I sure am glad those evil Lakers lost!”
(Can you guess which one was from my grandma?)

I haven’t had the chance to rehash the game with all of my sports-fanatic friends, but I know the sentiment is all the same. The Lakers were spanked in front of everyone on Tuesday night. On the big stage. With their selfish star as the front-runner in their demise. He good the good old-fashioned spanking he's deserved for so long. Classic. Wonderful. Beautiful.

This doesn’t erase the heartache from 2000. The only thing that could possibly do that is a Western Conference Finals matchup in the next year or two between my beloved Blazers and the hated Lakers. Obviously, good would prevail and vanquish evil. I can’t wait for that day.

But until then? Evil has been vanquished from the NBA for this 2007-8 season. We’ll just have to make sure that the same holds true next year. :-)

Top 5 Ways to Spend a Saturday

  • A yummy brunch with friends
  • Watching ESPN College GameDay then college football
  • Taking a walk with no particular destination in mind
  • Relaxing by a pool and soaking in the sun
